Major police operation in Reus leads to arrest for fraud and theft

A major public safety operation coordinated by the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Guàrdia Urbana de Reus, and the Policía Nacional in the Mas Pellicer neighborhood of Reus resulted in three arrests and numerous citations this Thursday.

The three security forces carried out the operation during Thursday afternoon with the aim of reinforcing public safety in the area. During the deployment, more than 120 people were identified, 67 of whom had prior police records.
The most significant result was the arrest of a 54-year-old man accused of theft, four counts of bank card fraud, and attempted fraud. The incidents date back to January 14, when a woman reported the theft of her wallet, which was subsequently used to make unauthorized payments in various establishments.
In addition to this arrest, six individuals were cited for possession of narcotic substances, and one more for possession of a prohibited weapon. Agents also inspected a premises where 50 packages of illegal nicotine products were seized, and several administrative reports were filed for detected irregularities.
The Guàrdia Urbana de Reus, for its part, processed 23 citations for traffic violations and immobilized two vehicles. Separately, the Policía Nacional arrested two people and cited two others for infractions related to the Immigration Law. The man detained by the Mossos d’Esquadra will be brought before the duty investigating court in Reus tomorrow.
