Minister Mònica Martínez Bravo announced that her department is accelerating procedures to unblock the construction works of the ICASS elderly residence in Reus, which has been closed since July 2024.

"accelerating all procedures to the maximum"

Minister Martínez Bravo indicated that the project is in the final stages of management and that they will soon be able to offer “more news” regarding the future of the ICASS facility, closed since July 2024, although she did not provide a specific timeline for the resumption of the works in Reus.
One of the main lines of work is the creation of a unified package that allows for demolition, construction, and construction bidding to be carried out in the same process. This measure aims to simplify bureaucracy and “streamline all subsequent procedures.”
In addition to the situation in Reus, the head of the Department of Social Rights also pledged support to the Alcover City Council in the development of the future elderly residence in that municipality.
