The Voluntariat per la llengua program introduced 68 new linguistic pairs in Reus last Friday, February 6, bringing the total number of active participants in the city this trimester to 105.

These 68 new pairs join the 37 who had already started meetings the previous trimester, consolidating the figure of 105 duos dedicated to practicing conversational Catalan in the capital of Baix Camp.

"We thank the volunteers and the learners for dedicating part of their time to this initiative, which is key to promoting the use of Catalan and creating bonds through language."

Daniel Recasens · President of the CNL and Councillor for Culture and Linguistic Policy of Reus City Council
The success of this option for practicing the language outside the classroom and fostering integration has been so significant that the Centre de Normalització Lingüística (CNL) de l’Àrea de Reus Miquel Ventura had to launch a special appeal to recruit more volunteers.
Those interested in participating as volunteers can contact the organization via email or WhatsApp to join the initiative, which offers both in-person and virtual meetings.
In addition to the weekly meetings, participants can enjoy complementary activities from the Xalem program, including a trip to the Boca de la Mina, an excursion with GATA to Llorito de Tarragona, and a radio workshop with LANOVA Ràdio.
