The 2nd Patient Experience Week, under the slogan "The voice that transforms," focused on the mechanisms and tools that Salut Sant Joan Reus-Baix Camp uses to center patient care and improve care pathways. The Auditorium of the Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus hosted the main talks.
The event began with the official inauguration by Dr. Gloria Gálvez, Secretary of Healthcare and Participation of the Catalan Department of Health, and Dr. Anton Benet, manager of Salut Sant Joan Reus-Baix Camp.
The inaugural conference, "Patient Experience: from philosophy to practice," given by Dr. Marta Milà, manager of the Camp de Tarragona Health Region, explored concepts of humanization and person-centered care, exemplifying daily challenges and promoting collective reflection for more patient-centered care.
During the event, the Citizen Health Experience Observatory (OECS) of Salut Sant Joan Reus-Baix Camp was presented. More than 40 voluntary professionals presented the work carried out in the OECS's seven lines of work to advance towards more humane care.
Dr. Montserrat Duran, Head of Clinical Management and MAPAC Commission at Salut Sant Joan Reus-Baix Camp, gave the talk "Less can also be more: discovering Right Care and how it generates value in health," explaining how to achieve value-based healthcare through the adaptation of clinical practices and shared decisions between patient and professional.
Primary care centers hosted practical sessions. At the Hospital Lleuger Antoni de Gimbernat de Cambrils, community physiotherapists Laura Pérez and Kseniia Borisova led a session on postural hygiene and safe transfers. At the CAP Marià Fortuny de Reus, community physiotherapists Adrià Pérez and Giulia Suñol, along with occupational therapist Adriana Jiménez, organized the activity "Move today, gain health tomorrow." Finally, community physiotherapist Albert Valle offered the talk "Talk to your physio: resolve your doubts about muscle and joint pain" at the CAP Riudoms.
