The Tarragona Provincial Council, led by President Noemí Llauradó, plans to start construction in 2029 on a new 400-seat auditorium in Reus, integrated into the expansion of the Palau Bofarull Music Conservatory.

The president of the provincial body, Noemí Llauradó, presented the project on Monday, January 26, detailing that the auditorium will occupy 1,800 square meters and will have a capacity exceeding 400 seats, up from the current 250. This new cultural facility will not only serve the students and teachers of the Diputació School and Conservatory of Music in Reus but will also be open to orchestras and musical groups from across the demarcation.

"a reference auditorium in the demarcation for symphonic music"

Noemí Llauradó · President of the Tarragona Provincial Council
The new space will be built in an annex physically and functionally integrated with the current Palau Bofarull building, with access via Salvador Espriu street. This ambitious expansion and improvement operation requires the acquisition of between two and five nearby properties, allowing the center to grow from its current 1,042 square meters to over 4,000.

"will represent an improvement in the service to students, teachers, and the entire community of the School and Conservatory of Music"

Sandra Guaita · Mayor of Reus
This restructuring will also allow the integration of the fourteen music classrooms that have been operating since the 2014/15 academic year at the Sant Jaume street location, freeing up space for the Diputació School of Art and Design in Reus.
