A traffic accident involving eight vehicles, including a truck, resulted in ten injuries this Tuesday on the AP-7 near Vandellòs i l’Hospitalet de l’Infant, with two victims reported in critical condition.

The incident, which occurred at kilometer point 279 of the southbound AP-7, mobilized a total of ten units from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) and required intervention from the Servei Català de Trànsit. Although circulation was restricted for several hours, the road has now been fully cleared.
According to the final assessment by the SEM, ten people received medical attention. Two of the injured were transferred in critical condition to the Hospital Universitari Joan XXIII de Tarragona. A third person was seriously injured and was also evacuated to the same hospital center.
In addition to the seriously and critically injured, seven people suffered minor injuries. Of this group, one was transferred to Joan XXIII Hospital, three were discharged at the scene of the accident, and the remaining three were referred to the Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP) in Cambrils.

The exact causes of the collision, which involved a truck and seven other vehicles, remain under investigation to determine the dynamics of the events.

The accident caused significant traffic jams starting from the municipality of Mont-roig del Camp, as vehicles were forced to circulate only on the hard shoulder. This is the third accident involving trucks recorded on the Tarragona stretch of the AP-7 this week, once again highlighting the high accident rate on this road.
