Deltebre Triathlon Becomes Second Largest in Catalonia with Record Registrations

The Deltebre Triathlon, taking place on April 11 and 12, has achieved a historic record of 1,610 participants, positioning itself as the second largest event of its kind in Catalonia with a notable economic impact.

The new edition of the Deltebre Triathlon, held this weekend, has exceeded all expectations by reaching the highest number of registered participants in its history, with 1,610 athletes. This figure officially makes it the second largest triathlon in Catalonia, consolidating its presence in the Catalan sports calendar.

The mayor of Deltebre, Lluís Soler, emphasized the event's importance for the municipality, noting that the record participation demonstrates the strength of a competition that continues to grow and position Deltebre on the map of major sporting events in the country. For his part, the deputy mayor of Deltebre Projecció, Francisco Castro, highlighted the implemented sports model, which allows showcasing the landscape, organizational capacity, and tourist offerings of the locality, contributing to the deseasonalization of tourism.
The economic impact of the last edition of the Deltebre Triathlon was estimated at 298,500 euros, a figure that demonstrates the event's ability to boost the local economy. Of the registered participants, 32 are from Deltebre and 150 from the Terres de l'Ebre, which highlights the event's local roots and its capacity to mobilize participants from across Catalonia and Spain.
The triathlon offers various modalities adapted to all levels, including Sprint, Olympic, Half, Short, and Aquabike events. The circuits are designed to integrate sporting demands with the natural beauty of the surroundings, offering an experience that goes beyond mere competition. The organization relies on the involvement of 168 volunteers, a testament to the collective commitment that makes an event of this magnitude possible. Kilian Bertomeu, CEO of WeFeel Events, highlighted that the event reflects the combined efforts of the organization, volunteers, and administration. Furthermore, the Deltebre event will kick off the TriTour 2026 circuit, which will also make stops in Cambrils, El Pont de Suert, and Tossa de Mar.
