The educational community of a high school in Tortosa has publicly expressed its concern about the current situation of the center, requesting transparency, respect, and institutional support. This concern arises after four years of management by the current leadership, which began its tenure with the majority support of the faculty.
Among the decisions that have generated discomfort is the distribution of the kitchen and canteen space. According to the teachers, the Territorial Services assigned most of the space and machinery to a neighboring school, leaving the high school with a very small area. The management had to make personal arrangements to obtain the basic equipment necessary for the canteen service.
Another point of contention was the repetition of the psychosocial risk assessment in 2024, which was applied with particular intensity to this high school, without a similar procedure being recorded in other centers in the area. This situation generated bewilderment and questions about the application criteria.
Likewise, the loss of a second-year scientific baccalaureate line last academic year, due to a minimal difference of two students, affected the staff and left teachers without a position. The teachers question the educational planning criteria, as another school in the city had 54 vacant places at the same level.
The Educational Inspectorate decided to interview the center's staff at the beginning of this academic year, as part of the management evaluation process. Teachers point out that this action has been applied with special intensity at their high school, with no record of it being done in the same way in other centers with similar management renewal processes.
One of the biggest concerns is the dissemination of personal information of the management on January 21 by a former member of the trusted team. This communication, which included sensitive data, was sent to the entire faculty and the Educational Inspectorate. The management has filed a complaint with the Catalan Data Protection Agency, which has opened an investigation.
The faculty supporting this letter has expressed their support for the school's management, highlighting their commitment and dedication. They ask for stability, trust, and that the administration also supports an approach to education based on work and responsibility.
