The day began with the hoisting of the Catalan flag, carried out by the herald of the Major Festivals of Sant Antoni 2026, Andreu Ferré i Llaó, accompanied by the Agrupació Musical l’Emburgada and the Coral Santa Llúcia. The procession proceeded to the monument at Coll de les Forques to commemorate the memory of the Perelló residents who fell during the Segadors War in 1640.
This year, as a novelty, the child 'pubilles' and 'hereus' (traditional Catalan figures) joined the celebration, along with the adult 'pubilles' and 'hereus'. The mayor of El Perelló, Samuel Ferré, delivered the institutional speech, followed by tributes from local entities and the child and adult representatives, marking the end of the most solemn acts.
Subsequently, the commemoration moved to the hermitage for the more popular events. These included a children's bouncy castle, a paella contest with 20 teams participating, a 'guinyot' (card game) championship, and live music performances, organized by the JUP. The traditional popular paella gathered over 200 people.
The Town Council of El Perelló expressed its gratitude to all local entities, especially the JUP and the ADF, and to all the individuals who, once again, contributed to making the celebration of Catalonia's National Day possible in the municipality.
