The L'Ametlla de Mar Town Council has added five new officers to the Local Police force this March 2026, bringing the total number of active personnel to 18.

The new additions include four interim officers from the Generalitat de Catalunya labor pool and one from the municipal registry. An additional officer is currently training at the Public Security Institute of Catalonia and will join the force permanently in the coming months.

"Expanding the force is a priority for this term, especially given the retirement of six officers during this legislature."
