The Tortosa City Council has introduced a new official WhatsApp channel this March to streamline communication with citizens and provide real-time updates on local affairs.

This digital tool allows Tortosa residents to receive official notifications, cultural event schedules, and service alerts directly on their smartphones. The new system replaces previous broadcast lists that faced technical limitations due to the high number of subscribers, offering a more robust solution for mass communication.

"The channel is designed to offer useful and updated information in an organized and accessible way."

Mar Lleixà · Mayor of Tortosa
The service is free and functions as a one-way information stream, meaning it is not intended for direct citizen inquiries or chat support. Users can join by navigating to the 'Updates' tab in WhatsApp and searching for the official Tortosa council profile.
