The Tortosa City Council has unveiled the fifth edition of the 'Estiu a la Carta' program, offering over 50 activities for young people aged 12 to 15, alongside other proposals for various age groups.

The Tortosa City Council today announced the fifth edition of the Estiu a la Carta program, aimed at young people aged 12 to 15. This year, the initiative features over 50 activities throughout the summer, as well as other proposals from the Youth Department. These also include activities from L'Estiu Jove at the Espai Jove Lo Carrilet, for those aged 15 to 29, and summer camps in Tortosa, for children and young people from three years old.
The program, as announced by the mayor, Mar Lleixà, accompanied by the Councilor for Youth, Víctor Grau, aims to offer proposals "for all tastes and of high quality," combining leisure, entertainment, sports, culture, health, creativity, new technologies, emotional well-being, and environmental discovery. "It also includes a program designed to support initiatives that may arise from the young people themselves," stated the mayor.
The Estiu a la Carta program, promoted with the Grup d'Esplai Blanquerna and other entities, will begin on June 29th and run until August 21st, with activities from Monday to Friday, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Its uniqueness lies in its participatory model, as activities are designed based on the opinions and interests of young people, with the collaboration of the Departament d’Educació i Formació Professional and the participation of students from the third and fourth years of ESO. Registrations can be made via www.estiualcarta.org.
Meanwhile, the Espai Jove Lo Carrilet will offer L'Estiu Jove, with outings, activities, and workshops in the afternoons from 4 PM to 8 PM for young people aged 15 to 29. Additionally, the Youth Department has prepared a Guide to Summer Activities and Camps in Tortosa, a compilation including all proposals for children and young people from three years old in the city and its five towns.
Councilor Víctor Grau also presented the Impulsa Jove project, aimed at supporting youth-led initiatives. The goal is to help young people transform their ideas into real projects, open to all types of proposals. Selected projects, which must be from individuals aged 16 to 30 residing in Tortosa, can receive financial support of up to 2,000 euros and will be developed before the end of the year. Proposals can be submitted until September 1st via padlet.com/edificijovelocarrilet.
Finally, the street performance 'Monòlegs a la Plaça' (Monologues in the Square), addressing homophobia and non-binarism, was announced. Organized by the Cooperativa Nus Teatre, it will take place on June 18th at 7 PM in the plaça de l'Absis, aiming to foster reflection on gender-based violence in public spaces.
