The Mayor of Tortosa, Mar Lleixà, has proposed creating a 'council of sages' to the Chamber of Commerce to locate local talent abroad and attract new investments.

Speaking at the Café Cambra event on February 13, Mar Lleixà emphasized the need for public-private cooperation to identify Tortosa professionals living globally. This voluntary advisory group would act as ambassadors to promote the city and open doors for economic growth.

"A kind of council of sages that brings proposals to the City Council and works to bring our city to every corner of the world."

The Mayor also highlighted future projects such as the Catalunya Sud industrial estate and the new University Hospital, while demanding urgent improvements to the regional railway network due to persistent service deficits.
