The Tortosa City Council has launched the project to rehabilitate and consolidate the south wing of the former Sant Josep school, transforming the space into a new artistic and cultural creation center for the city.

The approval by the Tortosa City Council will allow the rehabilitation and consolidation of the south wing of the emblematic former Sant Josep school. The main objective of this action is to convert the space into a new creation center, thus boosting the artistic and cultural life of the city.
The project focuses on the structural recovery of a part of the building that was disused, ensuring its heritage preservation. This future creation center is envisioned as a meeting point for local and emerging artists, offering workshops, rehearsal spaces, and exhibitions.
The initiative is part of the municipal policy of recovering historical buildings for social and cultural uses, reinforcing the role of Tortosa as the capital of the Terres de l'Ebre region. The investment in this rehabilitation is seen as a firm commitment to long-term cultural development.
