The Tortosa City Council has launched an improvement plan investing over 93,000 euros to upgrade the Remolins Exhibition Pavilion and its surroundings, responding to demands from residents and local organizations.

The most significant reform focuses on the comprehensive renovation of the pavilion's restrooms, an action requested by sports entities, exhibitors, and participating companies. This work, awarded to Coexsa, Construccions Salaet Franch, has a budget of nearly 26,000 euros and a two-month execution period.

"The Remolins Pavilion has not always received the maintenance required by a building of its characteristics and usage needs. The facilities have accumulated breakdowns and damage, caused by the passage of time and uninterrupted use."

Jordi Jordan · Mayor of Tortosa
Furthermore, the sports facility will be adapted to safety regulations with the installation of a metal evacuation staircase, costing 10,291 euros (awarded to Jusa SL). The exterior parterre will also be renovated, where the growth of 19 trees had deformed the pavement, with a budget of nearly 9,400 euros.
Finally, the Municipal Government will improve the lighting in the Parc de la Fira, a long-standing demand from Remolins residents and the educational community of the URV Terres de l'Ebre Campus. Five new lighting points will be installed to address the illumination deficit, with an investment exceeding 48,000 euros, carried out by the company SECE.

"We are sure that this work will be very well received by the Remolins neighborhood, by the people who use the pavilion, and also by the students and faculty of the URV, as it will contribute to improving the feeling of safety throughout the Remolins park area."

Jordi Jordan · Mayor of Tortosa
Mayor Jordi Jordan also recalled that the park will soon be renamed Rafel Vidiella, in honor of the politician and trade unionist from Tortosa.
