The inaugural event, titled Sempre he sentit la follia de cantar (I have always felt the madness of singing), will take place on Saturday at 7:30 PM and feature soprano Montserrat Seró. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Pau Casan, great-grandson of Conxita Badia, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the death of the great artist, who was a disciple of Felip Pedrell from Tortosa.
“"Conxita Badia was the heir to the musical project of Felip Pedrell, who was even her wedding godfather."
The president of Joventuts Musicals, Elisa Huguet, detailed that the program will run from January 24 until June 6. The cycle includes five more concerts, with performances such as those by David Espinós (February 21), Escarteen Sisterns (March 28), and the Banda Municipal de Música de Tortosa with trumpeter Rubén Simeó (April 11).
The First Deputy Mayor for Culture, Jordi Jordan, reiterated municipal support for the organization, emphasizing that the cycles complement the city's cultural offering, defined as the "undisputed cultural capital" of the Terres de l’Ebre. In addition to the concerts, the organization will arrange a trip to the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the third edition of the Felip Pedrell Music Competition on December 14.
