The group Anem de Farra, including members Abril Bernat and Nil Cordero, is leading the Calonge i Sant Antoni Carnival in 2026, preparing a major show despite logistical challenges.

The group Anem de Farra has taken the honor of being the Carnestoltes (Carnival King/Queen group) of the Calonge i Sant Antoni Carnival, remarkably, in only their second year of existence. Abril Bernat explained to Ràdio Capital that the project started as a joke among ten friends in the institute playground, but quickly took shape thanks to the support of the Espai Jove and the Calonge Float Builders (Carrossaires).

"The float builders have helped us tremendously. Without them, we would not have moved forward."

Despite their rapid rise, their debut has not been without difficulties. After encountering technical problems last year (broken speakers and non-functioning generators), the group has prepared meticulously this year. Although its members are spread across Girona, Lleida, and Barcelona due to studies, they have managed to coordinate rehearsals and finalize the show's details.
The theme chosen for this year's costume is cabaret, designed to create a complete spectacle featuring a story, music, and strong stage presence. Nil Cordero pointed out that they sought a theme that would particularly showcase the figures of the Carnival King and Queen, overcoming the academic and logistical challenges involved in the preparation.
The group will participate in several parades, including those in Sant Feliu, Platja d’Aro, and Santa Cristina, but they emphasize the parade in Calonge i Sant Antoni, which is the last one and is experienced with a unique atmosphere of party closure. Furthermore, they highlight the good community spirit, with events like the 'botifarrada' at Can Roc, which help create bonds between the different groups.
