Extinguishing teams have managed to stabilize 70% of the right flank of the wildfire affecting the Les Gavarres massif, in the Baix Empordà region, since yesterday morning.

Extinguishing efforts have contained a significant part of the perimeter, although crews continue to work on sealing the central zone, especially on the ascent to Puig d'Arques. This sector presents access difficulties, which is why aerial resources are being used for water drops.
The fire has reached several residential areas in Calonge, causing damage to exterior elements, gardens, and one unoccupied house. As a preventive measure, local police evacuated several streets overnight, and a municipal pavilion has been set up to accommodate affected residents.
Authorities are maintaining the lockdown order for the population as a safety measure due to the vulnerability of traveling by road. The situation will be reassessed this afternoon, coinciding with the expected arrival of the sea breeze, a meteorological factor that could influence the fire's behavior.
