The Baix Empordà and other Girona regions were the most severely hit by this weekend's windstorm, accumulating the majority of incidents and emergency calls.

Firefighters responded to hundreds of calls in the affected areas, primarily due to fallen trees, broken branches, and detached facade elements. Municipalities such as Calonge i Sant Antoni and Platja d'Aro were among those most severely impacted by the strong winds.
The 112 emergency phone received a total of 336 calls originating from Baix Empordà, which led to 233 alerts. Overall, the day saw eight people attended by the Medical Emergency System (SEM) and over a thousand emergency calls, mainly concerning structural problems and public road hazards.
In light of this situation, Civil Protection maintains the windstorm alert and urges the public to exercise caution. Strong winds are expected to continue throughout Monday, especially in the northern half of the country, and the episode is forecast to last until Tuesday, with powerful gusts and intense waves along the coast, particularly in the Empordà and Selva regions.
