The Serveis de Salut Integrats del Baix Empordà have launched a campaign in their primary care centers to promote more active and clear communication between patients and professionals.

The initiative, named Salut sense dubtes: Fes sempre 3 preguntes, aims to ensure users better understand their diagnosis, prescribed treatments, and medical instructions. Over the next four months, centers will provide leaflets in waiting rooms so patients can write down their questions before entering the consultation.
The model proposes three fundamental questions: What do I have?, to clarify the diagnosis; What should I do?, to know the actions to follow; and Why?, to understand the benefits of the treatment. This dynamic was previously tested in the outpatient clinics of Palamós Hospital, where it received positive feedback from users.
The project is based on the international Ask Me 3 program, a methodology promoted by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston, which has already been implemented in several hospital centers in Catalonia. In addition to printed material, the centers will have volunteer support to explain the dynamic and encourage active patient participation during visits.
