The municipal Government of Begur, in the Baix Empordà region, has announced the opening of the 16th edition of the Poster Contest, aiming to find the image that will illustrate the XXI Indianos Fair. This celebration, which commemorates the legacy of Catalans who made their fortune in the Americas, is one of the most important cultural and tourist events on the Costa Brava.
The poster theme must reflect the spirit of the fair, which this year will focus on the motto “Sea and Sailing,” according to previous announcements. Participants must submit original and unpublished works that capture the essence of the historical relationship between Begur and Cuba.
The call specifies that submissions must be presented before a deadline to be announced soon, and the jury will assess creativity, artistic quality, and the message's communication capacity. The winning poster will become the official image of the fair, traditionally held on the first weekend of September.
The poster contest is a consolidated tradition preceding the fair, which attracts thousands of visitors annually. The organization seeks to ensure that the promotional image lives up to the cultural and festive relevance of the event in the Baix Empordà region.
