The exhibition's inauguration will take place on Thursday, June 19, at 7 PM in front of the Mercat Municipal, and will be open to all citizens.
This exhibition is notable for being the first in Palafrugell constructed entirely from photographs by Paco Dalmau, a renowned local photographer with one of the most significant graphic archives in the Baix Empordà region. His camera has documented the social, cultural, political, and festive life of the municipality for decades.
Through a selection of twenty-five images, one for each year of Ràdio Capital's history, the exhibition offers a journey through the events and transformations that have shaped Palafrugell over the last quarter-century. Episodes such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2010 snowfall, the October 1st referendum, the restoration of the Torre de Can Mario, the 50th anniversary of the Cantada d'Havaneres in Calella de Palafrugell, and the centenary of the Escola Torres Jonama will be featured.
The photographs are complemented by journalistic and audio content from Ràdio Capital. Each piece includes a QR code that allows access to the original news story and to listen to its radio version, creating an interactive experience that connects Paco Dalmau's visual memory with the station's information archive.
The exhibition has been curated by Martí Sabrià i Deulofeu, curator of the 25th-anniversary events for Ràdio Capital, and is part of a project that will tour various municipalities in the Baix Empordà region.
The show is co-organized with the Ajuntament de Palafrugell and is supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Girona, the Consell Comarcal del Baix Empordà, and the Club Nàutic Estartit.
