Founded in 1988, the group has evolved from improvised costumes to becoming a local institution. Today, it consists of 26 members aged between 40 and 60 who prioritize humor and satire over complex choreography.

Their main event takes place at Hotel Trias, featuring performances by the pool that attract nearly a thousand people every Carnival Friday. This celebration has become a highlight of the local festivities in Palamós.
Over the years, Els Xatos have reached significant milestones, such as delivering the opening proclamation in 2004. They continue to advocate for the traditional spirit of carnival, supported by a strong network of families and local collaborators.
