Sant Feliu de Guíxols unveils the full program for the 2026 Ganxó Carnival

The celebration will run from February 6 to 18, featuring the costume race, parades, and the famous Ball del Tongo dance party.

The city of Sant Feliu de Guíxols has released the complete schedule for its Ganxó Carnival 2026, which will officially kick off on Friday, February 6 with the popular fun run.

The Ganxó Carnival 2026 festivities in Sant Feliu de Guíxols will start strongly on Friday, February 6 with the traditional 'Cursa que desperta el Carnaval' (Race that awakens the Carnival). This 6 km popular race, organized by Colla Els Festuks, requires all participants to wear costumes, starting and finishing at Jardins Juli Garreta at 7 p.m.
Saturday, February 7 will be the day of the great gathering of troupes. At 6:30 p.m., the Federació de Colles de Carnaval Ganxones will organize the street parade starting from three different points in the city. Later, at 9 p.m., the marquee at Guíxols Arena will host the Troupes Dinner, the handover of “La Bomba”, the proclamation of the Godmothers, and the presentation of the Carnestoltes 2026, followed by a party with FUNDACIÓN IBIZA and MON DJ.
The central events will take place the following week. Thursday, February 12 highlights include the Children's Costume Party at 5:30 p.m. featuring the show L'HORA DE DONAR-HO TOT by Cia. ELS ATRAPASOMNIS. In the evening, at 10 p.m., the Fat Thursday Party will be held at the Guíxols Arena with the inaugural proclamation by His Majesty Carnestoltes 2026 and performances by THE TXANDALLS and DJ KZU.
The Friday Parade (Rua del divendres), the most important float and troupe parade, will begin at 6 p.m. on February 13. At 11:30 p.m., the popular Ball del Tongo will take place with DJ DOLÇA and WASA CORPORATION. The weekend will be completed with the Morning Parade (Rua del matí) on Sunday, February 15 at 11 a.m. Finally, on Wednesday, February 18, the Carnival will conclude with the Burial of the Sardine and a popular sardine feast at Plaça del Mercat.
