Sant Feliu de Guíxols officially started the 2026 Carnival with the Troupes Dinner, held on Saturday, February 7, at the Guíxols Arena, attended by over a hundred participants.

The evening, full of emotion and symbolism, was marked by the transfer of power. The Colla Tramuntana, who will hold the titles of Carnestoltes Queen and King 2026, received the symbolic baton, La Bomba, from the Esventats, the protagonists of the previous edition. This act officially marks the start of the new Carnaval ganxó edition.
During the Troupes Dinner, the organization recognized the trajectory and involvement of two key members of the festival. Àlex Navarro (from the troupe Uuhquexungu!) and Josep Peláez (from the Marrecs) were named Honorary Float Builders 2026 (Carrossaires d’Honor) in gratitude for their dedication.
The new royal figures of the celebration were also presented: Maribel as Tropical Queen and Alejandro as Tropical King. Additionally, the sponsors (padrines) of the 2026 Carnival were announced: Gemma Vancells (from the Drink Team) and Jiudit Montoliu (from the Frikis), who will accompany the central events.
The event, organized by the Associació de Festes Ganxones, the entity responsible for energizing the festival, featured musical performances by La Fundación Ibiza and Mon DJ, ensuring a festive atmosphere at the Guíxols Arena.
