The Abrera Catalan Office has launched a new initiative to promote the use of Catalan outside the classroom, in collaboration with Òmnium Cultural and La Figaflor Bookstore.

The aim is to offer participants opportunities to practice the language in real-life, everyday situations while discovering the surroundings of Abrera. The sessions are designed to help participants practice Catalan in a fun and dynamic way, building confidence, expanding vocabulary, and becoming familiar with the language in daily contexts.
Various activities linked to daily life and knowledge of the municipality have been proposed, such as trips to the market and other shops to practice vocabulary related to products and purchases, coffee meetings to practice expressions typical of such moments, or visits to points of interest in Abrera. These outings allow participants to learn new vocabulary related to the urban space and local landmarks, turning the everyday environment into a natural and enriching space for learning.
The sessions take place on Fridays from 11 AM to 12 PM. The meeting point is at La Bauma, a space within La Figaflor Llibreria - Espai Cultural i Creatiu, which is also collaborating on this initiative. The Abrera Catalan Office encourages the local population to participate actively and spread the word, as the activity is open to anyone wishing to learn, practice, or improve their Catalan, and aims to become a space for social gathering and cohesion in the municipality.
