The Colònia Güell has opened an exhibition in its old cellars, presenting architectural student proposals for a new perimeter fence for the Crypt, a work by Antoni Gaudí.

The exhibition, open until November 15, is part of the commemoration events for Gaudí Year 2026. It features projects submitted by architecture students from ETSAB-UPC in two editions of a design competition organized by the Consorci de la Colònia Güell during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years.
The competition challenged students to design a new perimeter fence for the Crypt enclosure, aiming to combine monument protection with landscape integration and accessibility. The exhibition displays the works of participating teams, highlighting the winning proposals, alongside historical images of the Crypt.
The inauguration event, held on Tuesday, October 27, was attended by institutional representatives, faculty, and students. The winning teams presented their ideas and design criteria.
This initiative emphasizes the collaboration between the Consorci de la Colònia Güell and ETSAB-UPC, linking university education with the preservation of Gaudí's heritage and fostering reflection on how to delineate such an emblematic site.
Following its display at the Old Cellars, the exhibition will move to Barcelona, to the ETSAB of the UPC.
