The "El Arroz de Castelldefels" proposal is a joint initiative by the Castelldefels City Council and the Hospitality Guild, aiming to consolidate the city as a quality culinary destination. This project, which champions local identity, involves fifteen establishments, notably the Restaurante The New Canasta.
The recipe for this emblematic dish reflects the city's spirit, merging elements from the sea and the Garraf Natural Park. Key ingredients include cuttlefish and prawns from the Mediterranean, pork ribs, artichoke, green beans, thyme, and bomba rice, creating a perfect balance between sea and mountain.
"El Arroz de Castelldefels" is more than a recipe: it is a symbol of local pride, collaboration among restaurateurs, and a commitment to quality tourism.
Founded in 1976, the Restaurante The New Canasta, directed by Miguel Yepes, has established itself as a culinary institution on the coast of Castelldefels. The establishment is renowned for its seafood cuisine and rice dishes, maintaining traditional essence while incorporating contemporary techniques.
The restaurant's reputation is reflected in customer reviews, boasting an average score of 9.3 out of 10 on TheFork. Diners particularly highlight the quality of the rice dishes, the welcoming atmosphere, and the professional service, with an average price point of around €46 per person.
