The Santa Coloma de Cervelló Town Council will officially start the Gaudí Year celebrations on March 21 with a special event at the Colònia Güell Crypt, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This local initiative commemorates the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudí's death on June 10, 1926. The program includes a wide range of activities such as exhibitions, expert lectures, and specialized guided tours designed to highlight the architect's local legacy.
The opening ceremony will feature traditional sardana dancing by Colla Maig, accompanied by the Cobla Ciutat de Terrassa. Local authorities and the Colònia Güell Consortium aim to strengthen the community's connection to its unique modernist heritage through these public events.
Supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Gaudí Year in Santa Coloma will transform public spaces into areas for reflection and celebration of Catalan modernism throughout 2026.
