Escola Joviat from Manresa Wins Pastry Schools Contest in Sant Vicenç dels Horts

The Manresa center revalidates its title in the fourth edition of the competition, which kicks off the Mostra Internacional de Pastisseria.

The Escola Joviat from Manresa secured first prize in the Concurs d'Escoles de Pastisseria, held in Sant Vicenç dels Horts on Saturday, January 24, 2026, launching the International Exhibition.

The contest, celebrating its fourth edition, brought together four training centers from Catalonia. Escola Joviat revalidated the triumph obtained the previous year, showcasing the talent of its students before a specialized jury.
Second place went to the Escola d'Hoteleria de Lleida, followed by the Institut Dertosa from Tortosa in third place and the Escola d'Hoteleria i Turisme de Barcelona in fourth place. Each school was represented by two students who presented their creations.
The pastry competition served as the prelude to the central events of the Mostra Internacional de Pastisseria, which runs throughout the weekend in the plaça de la Vila. Chef and popularizer Maria Nicolau was responsible for inaugurating the event on Saturday at 11 am.
The Mostra includes demonstrations by nine recognized figures in the pastry field, with international projection and participants from countries such as India, South Africa, Uruguay, and Mexico. Furthermore, the prestigious Fava de Cacau awards, recognizing the 50 best pastry shops in Catalonia, will be presented on Saturday at 9 pm.
