The campaign, presented under the slogan “In Viladecans, a very own Christmas,” seeks the involvement of residents, businesses, and entities to build more communal festivities. The official lighting took place on November 26 with the illumination of the giant tree in the Plaça de la Vila.
“"This is going to be a Christmas of proximity, very much ours and yet belonging to everyone."
One of the central pieces of the program is the fourth edition of the Al Carrer Nadal festival, held from December 28 to 30. This event will offer sixteen shows and four artistic installations featuring theater, circus, magic, and acrobatics, with eight itinerant proposals. Festival director Xavier Campón noted that the winter edition is “much more family-oriented” than the summer one.
The festival includes national and international companies (such as Kiai from France and One Shot from Belgium), highlighting the critical humor of the play Bye Bye, Confetti by La Baldufa Teatre. Simultaneously, the City Council reinforces local trade with a new issuance of 3,720 Vilawatt Vouchers, allowing users to spend 50 euros by paying only 25 at nearly 300 establishments.
“"We are betting more on culture, street theater, and community than on lighting."
The festivities will culminate in January with the Royal Camp in the gardens of Can Modolell and the Royal Chamber in the Torre Baró, which will feature a renewed videomapping story, as announced by Deputy Mayor Irene Reus. The January 5 Parade, featuring inclusive points, will close the program.
