The Castellers de Vilafranca assembly voted this February to withdraw from the Festa Major processions in Vilafranca del Penedès on August 29 and 31.

The decision was backed by 83% of the members at their headquarters in Cal Figarot. President Ernest Gallart cited physical fatigue and a lack of participants during these specific events as the main reasons for the change, although ceremonial pillars will still be performed.

"It is a commitment we made to the group and now we will make it a reality."

The group also confirmed an international trip to Japan from November 6 to 15, 2026. Their upcoming season includes a debut performance in Girona and a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sant Climent de Taüll.
