The El Vendrell City Council finalized the acquisition of the historic Agricultural Cooperative building this Thursday, February 19, planning to transform the 1911 modernist landmark into a new House of Culture.

The deal was completed through a land swap for a commercial municipal plot in the Muntanyeta-Nord area. The agreement also includes a 466,000 euro payment to the city. The building features a basement with brick arches designed by the renowned architect Cèsar Martinell.

"This purchase will allow the neighborhood to breathe and provide a space for coexistence."

Kenneth Martínez · Mayor of El Vendrell
The renovation project will seek funding from the Pla de Barris program, aiming for completion by 2031. If subsidies are not granted, the council will use its own funds, which may extend the project's timeline.
