The Civil Guard seized nearly 5,000 bottles of liquor valued at 112,403 euros during a tax inspection at a wholesale establishment in El Vendrell on February 3, 2026.

Officers from the Fiscal and Borders Patrol (PAFIF) of the Civil Guard in El Vendrell confiscated 4,976 bottles of alcoholic beverages that were being sold without complying with current special tax regulations, specifically in the capital of Baix Penedès.

The combined value of the seized alcoholic beverages, which include brandy, whisky, vodka, rum, and gin, amounts to 112,403.15 euros.

The inspection took place at a wholesale establishment where agents detected the large quantity of bottles of different capacities and brands. These products were prohibited from commercialization according to the provisions of the current special taxes law on alcohol.
Once the person responsible for the commercial activity was identified, a complaint act was initiated for infringement of the Special Taxes Law. The merchandise was immobilized in situ, under the custody of the establishment manager, and made available to the customs office in Tarragona.
The Civil Guard emphasizes that the PAFIFs continue to carry out actions aimed at ensuring compliance with current legality, protecting the economic interests of the State, and defending consumer safety and rights.
