The Penedès Marítim Pact expressed its deep concern this March regarding the alternative transport plan scheduled for the upcoming works on the R2 South commuter rail line.

Institutions and social agents from the Garraf and Baix Penedès regions have described the proposal by Adif and Renfe as clearly insufficient. The current plan would see the section between Sitges and Garraf lose half of its train frequency.

"This proposal does not respond to the existing demand, which is already high today. During peak hours, buses are running full."

Local demands include increasing the bus fleet to at least 50 vehicles and ensuring free access to both the affected rail service and the C-32 highway for regular commuters during the construction period.
