The new motorhome area in Cunit, in the Baix Penedès region, has been subjected to vandalism just days before its inauguration, with damage and litter.

The motorhome area in Cunit, recently established next to the sports pavilion, has been the target of vandalism just days before its scheduled opening. This municipal initiative aimed not only to attract a year-round tourism profile but also to put an end to the indiscriminate parking of these vehicles, which had occasionally caused resident complaints.
The facility, which includes essential services for motorhomes such as grey water disposal and recharging, as well as a picnic area, was found with posts torn out, damaged installations, and a large amount of trash. It is believed that those responsible organized a drinking party, causing the damage.
The Cunit City Council has strongly condemned this vandalism and announced that it will proceed to repair the damage. Furthermore, the installation of surveillance cameras is being considered to enhance security and attempt to identify those responsible, as other control devices are present in the area.
This action is part of a network of motorhome areas in the Baix Penedès region, which has started with four municipalities coordinated by the Consell Comarcal, with the aim of expanding to more towns. The reception of the works by the municipalities is planned for the coming days, to officially activate these areas.
