The Badalona City Council Plenary session has approved at its October ordinary meeting the draft agreement with the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) for the financing of the redevelopment works of Llobreda Park, phase II, and the new Consolidated Text of the modification of the Metropolitan General Plan for areas linked to Can Colomer.

The plenary session held in October at the Casa de la Vila in Badalona has given the green light to two significant urban planning agreements. The first is the approval of the draft collaboration agreement between the Badalona City Council and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) for the financing of the redevelopment works for Lloreda Park, phase II.
This project, part of the AMB's Territorial Cohesion Action Program (PACTE), has a total budget of 1,350,408.76 euros (VAT included). The AMB will contribute 473,216.76 euros, while the Badalona City Council will cover 877,192 euros. The works include adaptation to accessibility regulations, renovation of the dog area enclosure, stabilization of slopes, installation of an adult gym, and LED lighting upgrades. A sewage system reform and vegetation management are also planned.
According to the agreement, the AMB will be responsible for contracting and overseeing the works, with technical coordination from the City Council. The Plenary also authorized the corresponding municipal expenditure and made the necessary land available to the AMB for the redevelopment works. This resolution was approved with favorable votes from all municipal groups.
The second approved item is the verification of the new Consolidated Text of the Modification of the Metropolitan General Plan for areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 linked to Can Colomer. This urban modification, which protects the area's landscape value, will allow for the transfer of buildable square meters to various urban areas of the city, such as Pomar, Montigalà, and adjacent zones to Morera and Bufalà, as well as between Can Claris and Raval.
Consequently, the landowner will be able to build 772 homes, 130 of which will be in Can Colomer. Of these, 323 will be subsidized housing (half for sale and half for rent), and 120 of the rental units will be ceded to the City Council. The resolution was approved with favorable votes from the Partido Popular (PP) and Partit dels Socialistes (S-CP), with opposing votes from Guanyem Badalona (GB) and Badalona en Comú Podem (BeCP), and an abstention from Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC).
