Over 300 residents of the Sant Roc neighborhood in Badalona demonstrated on the afternoon of January 22, blocking highway access to demand urgent measures against rising insecurity.

More than 300 residents of the Sant Roc neighborhood gathered yesterday afternoon to protest the repeated episodes of insecurity experienced recently. Demonstrators directly urged the Mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, to reinforce police presence and take urgent steps to ensure peace in the neighborhood.
According to residents, several robberies and incidents have occurred in recent weeks, significantly increasing the feeling of fear. This situation has heightened tensions and generated growing discomfort among the population.

The situation is unsustainable, and we are tired of living in fear.

As a protest measure, demonstrators blocked the Avinguda del Marquès de Mont-roig for over an hour, an action that forced the interruption of the highway entrance in the southern area of the city.
This blockade caused significant traffic disruptions and major congestion during the early afternoon, leading to a traffic collapse, especially at the entrance to Badalona Centre.
