The Catalan Traffic Service has confirmed that 74.2% of the vehicles expected to return to Barcelona and its surrounding areas after the Easter break have already arrived in the metropolitan area by mid-afternoon on April 6, 2026.

By 4 PM, a total of 437,971 vehicles had completed their return, out of an anticipated 590,000 expected to arrive before midnight. This return flow has been staggered throughout the day.
One of the most notable incidents of the day was a vegetation fire at midday on the C-32, which led to the temporary closure of the motorway. This situation caused significant queues and traffic jams in the affected section.
Regarding the rest of the road network, the AP-7 recorded the most significant traffic jams, particularly between Els Monjos and Banyeres del Penedès, with queues extending up to eleven kilometers. Traffic buildups were also observed on various sections of the A2 road and on the C-16 as it passes through Berga, in the Berguedà region.
