The Catalan chain Ametller Origen has been recognized as the best fruit and vegetable establishment in Spain according to the OCU report, published in February 2026.

Grupo Ametller Origen is the preferred chain for consumers in the fruit and vegetable category among Spanish supermarkets, according to the report Los supermercados favoritos de los clientes by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), scoring 84 out of 100. Furthermore, the company is the highest-rated Catalan chain for private label products, matching this score, only surpassed by the international retailer Costco (87).
This recognition confirms the commitment of the company, based in Penedès, to fresh, quality, and local products. Regarding overall chain satisfaction, Ametller Origen ranks sixth, highlighted by product variety, customer service, and the quality of fresh produce.

Ametller Origen reaffirms its leadership as a benchmark in healthy and sustainable food, with the mission of bringing local and trusted food to all households.

The company recently presented its annual results, exceeding €800 million in turnover in 2025 and registering growth of over 40% in just two years. This leadership is reflected in fruit and vegetable penetration, which has increased to 12%, compared to 8% in the previous year.
Its network includes 147 establishments across Catalonia and Andorra. Investments, totaling €31 million, have been allocated to renovations, expansions, and the construction of a new 15,000 m² logistics hub in the Zona Franca de Barcelona, promoting innovative projects such as El Viver.
