The city of Barcelona has become a benchmark for seafood lovers, thanks to a new wave of restaurants that reinterpret marine cuisine with original and sophisticated proposals.

Traditionally, seafood restaurants have been characterized by an offering based exclusively on product quality. However, a new generation of restaurateurs has decided to break with this scheme, introducing more complex and creative preparations that surprise diners' palates.
Among the most notable proposals is Taberna Nardi, an establishment that focuses on small marine delicacies at affordable prices, accompanied by a selection of natural wines. Meanwhile, Soluna offers a high-quality seafood experience with Japanese influence, featuring products such as lobster, shrimp, and langoustine, in addition to A5 wagyu.
Another example is Kresala, the result of an alliance between Sagardi and Gregorio Tolosa, which stands out for grilling large wild pieces over fires more than five meters long. This restaurant has been recognized as the best new opening in Barcelona in 2024. Also worth mentioning is Lluritu, which focuses on raw, warm, cold, grilled, or barbecued products, with minimal condiments and wines, and competitive prices.
The restaurant Estimar, led by a renowned chef, explores the wisdom of fish and seafood in a venue featuring a 16th-century arch, offering dishes with product dressed with subtle seasonings. Finally, Bar Hermós, located opposite the Mercat de la Llibertat, focuses on fresh produce unloaded by boats, applying the foundations of Catalan cuisine. Rías Kru combines the offerings of Rías de Galicia and Espai Kru, allowing customers to enjoy both Galician seafood and Japanese-Peruvian proposals. Batea, from the same team as Besta, merges Catalan and Galician coastal cuisine in a French bistro atmosphere. The centenary Mundial Bar, reopened by Grup Confiteria in the Born district, maintains its traditional aesthetic with popular-priced fish and seafood.
