The Barcelona City Council has comprehensively renovated the Social Services website (www.barcelona.cat/serveissocials) to make it more accessible, intuitive, and citizen-needs oriented, facilitating access to information and resources.

The new digital portal for Social Services in Barcelona aims to be the primary access point for information on municipal social services, presenting them clearly and understandably. The platform gathers information on Social Services Centers, benefits, procedures, and content from the Municipal Institute of Social Services (IMSS).
The renovation focused on user experience, especially for mobile access. The information architecture has been redesigned to be more intuitive and adaptable to diverse users, including those with digital difficulties. Navigation is organized by life needs, with a question-and-answer system to guide users to the most suitable services.
The portal also promotes a universal view of social services as a pillar of well-being accessible to all citizens, beyond vulnerable situations. It prioritizes frequently consulted content and universal benefits like dependency and care support, and includes an FAQ section.
It incorporates direct access to the Barcelona Social APP, which facilitates the relationship between citizens and social services. Since its launch in June, the APP has been downloaded by 5,227 people.
The platform also includes a dedicated space for professionals and entities, offering documentation, specialized resources, and institutional information to enhance transparency and collaboration. Explanatory infographics and visual resources have been added to simplify complex processes.
The new website is available in Catalan, Spanish, and English, with additional materials in various languages. This improvement is part of the Barcelona Fàcil Plan by the Barcelona City Council.
