The decision by the Cambrils City Council to withdraw the identified residential collection service is based on the desire to respond to the majority opinion of residents in these areas. The last collection under the door-to-door system will take place on the night of Tuesday, December 30.
Starting January 1, selective waste collection management will return to the previous model, which involves installing containers on public roads. The door-to-door system was implemented as a pilot test on July 1, 2024, with the aim of increasing recycling rates.
To inform the affected residents, the council, through the company Secomsa, will send an informative letter and place posters in the new container areas. The information will also be disseminated through social media, the municipal website, and local radio.
Despite the withdrawal of the system in these neighborhoods, the City Council thanked the involvement of residents who participated in the project during its year and a half duration and assures that it will continue working to improve waste management and promote sustainability.
