Among this year's honorees are prominent figures from the performing arts such as Sílvia Munt and Enric Majó, the renowned journalist Júlia Otero, and the chef Fermí Puig, who receives the award posthumously. The social activist Enric Morist has also been recognized posthumously.
The list, approved by the Government at the proposal of the Minister of Culture, includes ten organizations that have made significant contributions to Catalan society. These include the Fundació Ernest Lluch, the Universitat de Barcelona, and the Pastorets de Calaf.
The Creu de Sant Jordi is awarded to individuals or entities who have rendered distinguished services to Catalonia, especially in the defense of its identity and in the civic and cultural spheres.
Since its establishment in 1981, the Creu de Sant Jordi has symbolized recognition for those who have exceptionally contributed to the development and international projection of Catalonia. This year's recipients span a wide range of disciplines, from archival science and philosophy to social entrepreneurship and fashion, reflecting the diversity of talent and commitment to the country.
Other recognized personalities include archivist Ramon Alberch i Fugueras, philosopher Victòria Camps i Cervera, writer Maite Carranza Gil-Dolz del Castellar, plastic artist Maria Àngels Domingo i Laplana (Madola), photographer Joan Fontcuberta i Villà, doctor and historian Salah Jamal, designer Roser Marcé i Mata, businessman Miquel Martí i Escursell, dubbing actress Maria Lluïsa Solà i Hernández, entrepreneurs Ernestina Torelló i Llopart, Miguel Agustín Torres i Riera and Anna Vallès i Blasco, and researcher Ignasi Vila i Mendiburu. Posthumously, theologian Josep Rius i Camps has also been honored.
The honored entities are the Agrupació Coral Flors d'Urgell, the Banda de Música de Benissanet, the Col·legi Oficial d'Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya, the Coral Capella Santa Maria de Puigcerdà, the Fundació Ernest Lluch, the Fundació Pau Casals, the Grup Cultural de la Dona de Solivella, the Pastorets de Calaf, the association T'acompanyem, and the Universitat de Barcelona.
