Junts per Catalunya deputy, Jordi Bertran, denounced the serious deficits of the R13 line at the Catalan Parliament on Tuesday, demanding Adif and Renfe implement real improvements in schedules and frequencies before 2026.

The complaint is based on a diagnosis carried out by the user platform Propera Parada Valls and several municipalities in Conca de Barberà, Alt Camp, and Tarragonès, led by the mayor of Valls, Dolors Farré, representing over 80,000 people.

"The south of the country and the Camp de Tarragona are once again relegated to the bottom of investments and the quality of the railway service."

Junts believes the current service does not allow for labor or educational mobility towards Barcelona, as it is impossible to arrive in the capital before 7:30 a.m. To solve this, Bertran advocates converting the Vinaixa station into a terminus, allowing trains to spend the night there.
He also stressed the need for track maintenance to be carried out during night hours to ensure all-day frequencies, denouncing the discrimination suffered by Valls, which has only four daily trains per direction compared to other regional capitals.

"We are talking about four daily trains per direction for a city of 25,000 inhabitants, while other regional capitals with smaller populations have up to sixteen. This is not equity; it is discrimination."

Finally, the deputy demanded urgent security, accessibility, and information measures from Adif and Renfe at the stations, including elevated or underground crossings on central platforms and the opening of stations throughout the operating hours.
