The Catalan Government has authorized the expansion of the Justice Administration staff in Catalonia with 144 new positions to reinforce judicial and fiscal offices and deploy conflict management units.

The expansion includes 94 positions to strengthen judicial offices, 35 for fiscal offices, and 15 to deploy units for appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms. These new positions will support the new judicial and fiscal roles that will become operational on December 31, 2026.
The measure addresses the needs arising from the expansion of the judicial and fiscal system in Catalonia and the implementation of the new conflict management model promoted by Organic Law 1/2025.
The plan is to incorporate 94 new staff members from the judicial and administrative management, judicial and administrative processing, and judicial auxiliary bodies to support the 28 new judicial positions planned for Catalonia in 2026. This reinforcement will be distributed across judicial bodies in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
The agreement also provides for 35 new staff positions for Catalan prosecutor's offices, linked to the expansion of the Public Prosecutor's Office's organic staff. These incorporations will support the new fiscal positions planned for Catalonia and address the increase in activity, which rose by 27.68% in civil jurisdiction and 14.99% in criminal jurisdiction between 2023 and 2025. The new positions will be distributed among the prosecutor's offices in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
Finally, 15 personnel will be incorporated to deploy five administrative units for the provision of appropriate dispute resolution services (UAMASC), attached to the Directorate General of Law, Legal Entities, and Appropriate Conflict Management. These units will be organized into five territorial areas: Barcelona City and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona Provinces, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
The UAMASC aim to promote consensual conflict resolution methods and facilitate their application in the judicial sphere, coordinating and monitoring judicial referrals to mediation and advising justice administration professionals.
