The plot, a police thriller, focuses on the investigation of a gruesome crime committed in the emblematic building of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, La Pedrera, in Barcelona. The production, filmed primarily in the Catalan capital, stars Isak Férriz and the late Verónica Echegui, in her final role before her premature death.
The series reached its viewing peak in the second week, with 4.5 million reproductions, and has maintained its presence in the ranking until January 4.
In addition to global success, City of Shadows has placed in the Top 10 most-watched series in Spain, both in the non-English language category and the general ranking of the entire Netflix catalog. Internationally, it has also entered the most-viewed lists in countries such as Uruguay and Ukraine.
