Regional and Rodalies train users, supported by 135 organizations, are demonstrating today, February 7, 2026, in Barcelona in a double protest to demand service improvements, just before a three-day strike.

The day of protest comes at a critical time, on the verge of a three-day strike called by railway personnel, which could worsen the service if an agreement is not reached this weekend between the unions and the Ministry of Transport. The travelers' discontent is being measured on the streets with two separate calls in the Catalan capital.
In the morning, the Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) and the Consell de la República Catalana are leading a protest at 12:00 at the Rafael Casanova Monument in Barcelona, advocating for independence as the only solution to the collapse. The platform Mercaderies per l’Interior is joining this demonstration.
In the afternoon, at five o'clock, the main march organized by ten user platforms, including the Associació per a la Promoció del Transport Públic (PTP) and Dignitat a les Vies, will begin. Supported by nearly 135 entities such as UGT, CCOO, Òmnium, and Greenpeace, the demonstration will proceed from the Adif offices at Estació de França to Plaça de Sant Jaume under the slogan “Without trains there is no future”.

"We are aware that we are starting with a limp, because many people do not want or cannot take the train to get to Barcelona, and we all know how the AP-7 is, but these days we have seen that when mobility stops, it affects the entire country, and right now the main artery is broken, affecting health, work, and all areas."

Ana Gómez Llauradó · Spokesperson for Dignitat a les Vies
Regarding political participation, ERC, Junts per Catalunya, and the CUP have confirmed their attendance at both mobilizations. The Comuns (ECP) will only join the users' call, while the PSC and the PP have declined to participate.
