Rodalies train circulation was suspended up to twice on Monday morning due to an IT failure at the Adif control center located at Estació de França in Barcelona.

Rodalies train circulation had resumed on Monday starting at 6 a.m., following the weekend stoppage, but the service had to be suspended up to twice in less than two hours. According to Renfe, the problems were caused by an incident at Adif's Centralized Traffic Control Center, located at Estació de França in Barcelona.
After the first stop around 6:30 a.m., service was progressively restored after 7 a.m., but this normalization lasted only a few minutes. Shortly before 7:30 a.m., the total suspension was announced again, until circulation was finally restored at 7:46 a.m., hoping it would hold throughout the day.

"It is as if all the traffic lights in Barcelona turn red; you stop circulation for safety."

Antonio Carmona · Renfe Spokesperson
Renfe spokesperson, Antonio Carmona, apologized to users and guaranteed “work, work, and work” from the teams to resume service with maximum normality. Carmona added that technicians are working to prevent the incident from recurring and that “there will be time to determine the causes later”.
In parallel, a new follow-up meeting on the Rodalies crisis began at the headquarters of the Department of Territory. The meeting included the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, and the Secretary of State for Transport, José Antonio Santano. For the first time, Renfe President, Álvaro Fernández, participated in person.
Adif's head of communication, Salvador Almenar, confirmed that Monday's incident was an IT failure that forced the suspension of circulation for safety reasons. Almenar disconnected this problem from the situation of previous days, which he attributed to the effects of the storm on the infrastructure, including the landslide on the R4 between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Sabadell Sud.
