The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is commemorating its 625 years of history by opening two new guided urban itineraries to the public, allowing them to discover the institution's origins and its close relationship with Barcelona.

The tours, led by expert guides and historians, will take place between late October and mid-December. They will offer an opportunity to better understand the role the Hospital has played in the city's history and in the evolution of medicine in the country.
The first itinerary, "The hospitals that were the seed of Santa Creu," will cover the neighborhoods of Raval and Ciutat Vella to trace the spaces and streets linked to the Hospital's origins, founded in 1401. The second, "The historic site of the former Hospital de la Santa Creu," will allow visitors to learn about the history of the old hospital complex and other related health buildings, with the possibility of accessing some interior spaces of the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
Each itinerary will last approximately one hour and have limited capacity. Sessions will be offered on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings on various dates throughout the three months. Available dates and tickets can be consulted via a link provided by the institution.
With this initiative, Sant Pau aims to share with the public a history spanning over six centuries, closely linked to Barcelona and marked by a vocation for caring for people. A celebration that highlights the institution's roots and legacy, while continuing to build the health of the future.
